OT Driving assessments include both off road evaluation and on road practical component. The off road evaluation includes physical screen, sensory screen, visual screen, cognition assessment and driving history overview. The on road assessment is completed in a dual controlled vehicle with driving instructor. There is also relevant report writing to VicRoads and NDIS for funding applications.

Drive OT conducts thorough and holistic on-site assessment with client and their families to determine areas of concern relating to functional performance in home environment. Commonly this may be related to access to the home, shower and toilet areas and seating. A range of practical solutions will be presented to you for consideration and discussion.
After a home safety assessment, home modifications or assistive technology/equipment may be recommended to increase client safety and maximise independence. Drive OT partners with suppliers and installers to provide an end-to-end trial and procurement process. Common pieces of equipment include lift recliners, hilo beds, grabrails, ramps, bathroom equipment and more.
As we get older our mobility reduces so it's important that we stay on top of things to avoid serious injury from falls. Drive OT can develop a holistic falls prevention plan which incorporates environmental, client and therapeutic elements to reduce the likelihood of falls. We partner with physiotherapists and podiatrists to ensure an integrated approach to falls prevention.
Drive OT can conduct mobility assessment including in the community and at home along with arranging trial of mobility aids to ensure you get the right piece of equipment for you.
